ASBESTOS REMOVAL

HAMR licensed asbestos personnel (workers and supervisors) isolate the work area with polyethylene sheeting (plastic) and duct tape. The area is then placed under negative pressure with the use of a portable air filtration device equipped with a HEPA filter. Workers performing the removal wear HEPA filtered respirators and protective clothing. Floor tiles are then removed intact from the sub-floor with hand tools in a manner that limits breakage. The tiles are then placed in impermeable bags and sealed, prior to being removed from the regulated work area. The exposed surfaces are then wet wiped and HEPA vacuumed. Once the area has been completely cleaned, the isolation barriers are removed and the space is safe for re-occupancy.

Most pipe insulation removal projects are performed with a series of “glove bags.” HAMR licensed asbestos personnel (workers and supervisors) isolate the work area and remove any stored belongings. A polyethylene drop cloth is placed throughout the room or at least below the pipes. The pipes and associated insulation are completely sealed within the glove bags. A HEPA filtered vacuum and water pump sprayer are secured into the glove bag. Workers performing the removal wear HEPA filtered respirators and protective clothing. The worker inserts his hands and removes the insulation from the pipe. The insulation is wetted and the pipe is washed. The air in the bag is then evacuated and the bottom half of the glove bag is tied off. The glove bag is then removed from the pipe and placed into a 6-mil thick labeled disposal bag.

Most pipe insulation repair projects are performed with a nylon re-wettable cloth and bridging encapsulant. A polyethylene drop cloth is placed throughout the room or at least below the pipes. The pipe’s insulation is initially wrapped with a wet cloth, which eventually dries and hardens. Once the wrapping has set up, the material is painted with a thick bridging encapsulant. Workers wrapping and painting the pipes wear HEPA filtered respirators and protective clothing. When dry, the wrap forms a hard protective enclosure around the piping.

MOLD REMOVAL

CTG certified inspectors and technicians work with HAMR mold remediation specialists to thoroughly inspect and define any area of concern as it relates to mold and other aggregators of mold. In the event mold is discovered, a detailed proposal for remediation is submitted for approval.

HAMR mold removal specialists set up an isolated space in the area of contamination using plastic (6 mil poly) sheeting sealed with duct tape. Critical openings are then sealed off, and HAMR technicians use HEPA filtered air scrubbers to create negative air pressure for prevention of contamination of adjacent areas.

HAMR’s mold removal specialists will remove and discard contaminated building materials that cannot be effectively cleaned. Affected material is removed in sealed plastic bags and discarded.

Mold staining will be treated with a commercial grade mold and mildew sanitizer formulated to remove mold and mildew contamination. This application eradicates fungus and penetrates soiled areas, leaving surfaces clean and free of viable molds.
